Davina's Reception Class

Goes to Stepping Stones Farm

Reception Children at Sir william Burrough School visited Stepping Stones Farm.

Find out what they discovered below.

We are crossing the road, walking with a partner.
Aminul's dad is showing his hand to the car so they know to stop.

- Jawwad

We are in the Graveyard to go to the farm.
We are wearing sunhats not to get sunburned.

- Naomi & Imthila

We are on the farm. The pig is looking at us, he is looking at us because he wants some food. The pig is making a noise like this: "Oink"

Everywhere around the farm was stinky. First we ate our fruit and then gave some to the pigs. They were fighting to get the apple.

- Jawwad

The cow was swishing her tail & ears to move the flies away.

- Abir

The geese were next to the cow, they came to us.

- Iftikhar

There was a white and a black and white goat. Sometimes goats fight with their horns.
They kick people sometimes.

- Imthila & Habib

These are stinging nettles. They sting you.
I got stung, I got two leaves and I rubbed them on the sting, and then I felt better.

- Samina

[Dock leaves are said to relieve the pain of stinging nettles]

Ducks stay in the water.
They are drinking the water and eating the food. The farmer gave the ducks bread.

- Nahima, Najma & Samina

We were saying to the Rooster;
"Cock a doodle-do"
The rooster says it in the morning, because he wants to wake you up.

- Abir

The sheep were making so much noise.
They were going "Baa"

- Abir

I saw the wool in a wheelbarrow.
It comes from the sheep. They shave the wool.

- Jawwad

We saw an orange poppy at the farm

- Jhonti

There was some purple thistles in the bushes.
This has thorns.

- Rikaya & Jhonti

This is a ladybird on the thistle. The ladybird flies.

- Amira

We saw a donkey on the farm. We patted them. The ear was the softest part of his body.

If you touch the animals, you have to wash your hands with soap, because you might get germs.

- Omar & Kalam.
