THE LIMEHOUSE CUT - OUR LOCAL CANAL

This picture was created in the autumn of 2003 by children from St Paul with St Luke and Marner schools in a project supported by Lea Rivers Trust, as part of the Limehouse Cut regeneration programme led by British Waterways.

Made in 4 separate horizontal panels, the original was 2.5m x 2.4m in size and was used as the backdrop to storytelling and musical performances in both schools.

It was created by Year 5 children using sponge printing techniques in workshops led by visual artists Bryan Holdsworth and Lucy Brennan-Shiel of Artzero children's art. The storyteller was Kevin Graal of Talking Tales.
