eSafety
Mobile phones, computers, e mail and social networking sites are great ways of staying in touch with friends and family all over the world. You need to be able to use them for learning, for fun and maybe one day for work.
That’s why it’s important that you know how to stay safe. It’s also important that parents, carers and school staff know that you are able to use mobile phones and computers in a way that makes sure nothing bad happens to you.

Agree with your parent or carer what the rules are in your home. That will save a lot of arguments.
The basics
1. Agree how much time is reasonable to spend online especially when the next day is a school day.
2. Children are entitled to privacy. It’s your parent’s or carer’s job to keep you safe. Discuss with your parent or carer which sites you like using and who your online friends are.
3. You should only share phone numbers, e mail addresses and online contact details with people you know and trust. If you are not sure about someone who wants to get in touch check with a parent or carer.
4. Make your friends promise not to share phone numbers, e mail addresses and online contact details without your permission.
5. Don’t use computers and mobile phones to bully anyone else.
