Mr. Tony Blair wrote a letter for www.walktoschool.org.uk
Mr Blair says the journey to and from school is safer and healthier.

"We welcome initiatives such as the National and International Walk to School Weeks. Mr. Blair sends all involved his very best wishes.

Dates for this years National Summer Walk to School week are confirmed as: Monday 23 to Friday 27 May 2005. International Walk to School Monday 3 to Friday 7 October 2005.
Children say walking to school can be great fun, No matter what the weather. Why turn into a couch potato in mum's car, when you can have fun and get fit at the same time."

During national walk to school week, all the people walked to school. They all received a stamped card. All cards got stamped every day if they came to school on time.

We went back to the website and saw that last May (2005) was a huge success, with over 1.5 million people taking to the streets and walking to school.
