Work is taking place in three of the toilets. The themes
here are:
Weather at the seaside (sun, clouds, rainbow, flowing water)
Roman garden by the sea (looking and drawing in Roman style)
Reflections (light reflected on water and the local environment
The School Council has accepted that to completely
renovate each set of toilets would be too costly, so the focus
is on working to improve part of the space rather than the whole
of it. So within the toilets there has been repainting of certain
areas, producing small mosaics and using tacky back plastic to
add new and brighter images.
As well as a brighter more pleasant toilet experience
there are health benefits too. The Early Years Unit, which has
been the first to benefit, has a special colourful hands mosaic
above the sinks and it has been noticed that the children are
washing their hands more.
Now the toilets are even more talked about at Hermitage -
but for the right reasons!
