14 Tower Hamlets Secondary School came together to celebrate Local Democracy Week 2009!

   

School Council conference Friday 16 October 2009 – Local Democracy Week

The Young Mayors, Uma Akther invited all the secoindary students of Tower Hamlets school councils to join her and her team in the Tower Hamlets School Council Conference of 2009.

We had an exciting day of activities in store including:

  • Spending £160,000 on local services through participatory budgeting

  • Building the first Tower Hamlets school council charter

  • Question and Answer with the Young Mayors and Council members

  • Surprise celebrity key note speaker, Donald Maynard.
