A review of Whitechapel Market

By Kolsuma, Shapla School
Today I went to Whitechapel market and the first impression I saw was that it was very busy. My second impression is that there were lots of stalls. The third impression I saw was litter, it was all over the floor. The stalls were very colourful and bright it was eyecatching in the whole of Whitechapel market, there was more clothes stall then food stall. The food stall weren't that busy, but the stall keeper was putting more fruits to encourage people to come.

Who is it for?
The market is for everybody, people who live near the market, tourist and children. In the market I saw lots of kind of people. They were talking in lots of different languages. The market is not good for disable people because it is too crowded and all the stalls equipment comes in the middle of the pavement where people are supposed to walk.

When is the market open?
All of the stalls open Monday to Saturday, it opens at 8am and it has to close at half past 5. We went and asked a polite man if we could ask him a few questions, he said that he didn't have the time but he still answered our questions. He was really kind and a polite man.

How does Whitechapel Market promote itself?
The Whitechapel market is very colourful whichever stalls you go to you would always see something colourful. There are quite a lot of supermarkets near by. They play really nice music and that made it so lively. One stall keeper made really big and clear signs. Stalls were very eyecatching. The Internet and photocopying attracts people to come to their stalls.

What would I do to promote Whitechapel Market?
If I were to promote the place I would first keep the floor a bit more tidy. The second thing I would promote is a walking area for people to walk.

What I found most interesting about my visit
The most interesting thing I found about my visit was the children stall. It was very eyecatching and it had lots of nice things that the children would want to buy.

What I think, other people would like visiting Whitechapel Market

I think people would like visiting this place because there are lots of variety of stalls. You can meet lots and lots of different kind of people. The best thing is you can find lots of bargains.

What advice people would need when coming to Whitechapel Market?

The advice I would give to someone will be that it is very messy and there are lots of pickpockets, so you have to keep your bags to yourself. The stalls are laid out in middle of the pavement, so you have to watch out. Be careful where you step.

I would like to see the market to be clear and the stall keeper to keep there rubbish together. I would also like to see more public transport, by the way the station is situated in the middle of the market. If you forget to buy something just go to Sainsbury which is near by.

Your Comments:

Good to know, I enjoyed Kolsuma's comments, I'm planning to go to the market, so it is helpful to know that this market is very busy, for instance. Thank you !
