Butterfly design by the Griffindor Group

This piece of writing was carried out as a group activity, in the Literacy Hour.

The children then focused on changing the text from the 1st person to the 3rd person.

1 The first thing Griffindors did to make their mini-beast was sharing ideas. They then designed their minibeast.

2 Next Griffindors used metal tools to build their insect. The tools they used were pliers, hammers, wire cutters, and a bradle.
3 They made the creature out of recycled aluminium and wire. Then the children got some bendy wire and tied it to some thicker pieces to make circles.
4 They joined it to 5 long wires. Then the skeleton was made.
5 Next they bashed aluminium layed over some copper wire, stuck to a piece of paper. A bradle was used to make holes in the aluminium.
Finally it was sewn on with thin copper wire.
