Holocaust Memorial Day 27th January 2012
Learn about how the Polish hero Janus Korczak ran a democratic orphanage based on children’s rights.
How did the children create justice when they were surrounded by the poverty, death and brutality of the Warsaw Ghetto?
It is a hundred years since Korczak opened his orphanage.
It is 70 years since he and the children were killed at Treblinka.
Find out about this hero and how we can learn from what his children did.

Where can we support Fairtrade in Tower Hamlets?
Volunteers have surveyed local caterers to see what Fairtrade products they sell. Can you get your local shops and cafes to sell Fair Trade?
In January 2011 only about 6% stocked at least two Fairtrade products including coffee. (All major supermarkets sell Fairtrade items but only those with Fairtrade cafes are listed.)
